Three Months

I can believe Lia has been with us for three months, because to me it feels like she has been a part of our family forever.  However, I cannot believe how big she is!  Last night I realized that she had outgrown yet another set of pajamas.  She is out of most of her 0-3 month sizes, and into her 3-6 months.  She can support her head like a champ, looks all around in every direction, and can hold her head up during tummy time.  She is getting good at rolling from her tummy to her back.  She is so long!  It is so weird to me that she used to be this teeny little baby.  Just the past few days she has been figuring out how to reach for toys, grab them, and put them in her mouth.  She babbles all the time, and we LOVE just listening to her talk to herself.  She is still a smiley girl, smiling at everything.  However, no giggles yet!  She has laughed one time and that is all.  We want to hear her laugh!  Hopefully it will happen soon.

Lia is such a funny girl.  She makes the funniest faces and sounds and motions.  Sometimes we just laugh and laugh at her.  She likes to stand on your lap facing you and stare at your face.  She likes to look at her hands, and loves to suck on them.  She likes the "other baby" in the mirror, and likes looking at other real babies.  She likes to sit on the couch like a big girl and watch TV with us.  She likes being sung to.

When she is upset, she babbles to whoever is holding her in a very angry voice, then buries her head in your chest or shoulder, waving her arms all around, still babbling and snuffling into your shirt.  It is hilarious.  We are continually amazed at how much personality she is already showing.  She is so happy most of the time, but she is quite strong-willed even at such a young age.  She is a very observant baby, often staring all around with wide eyes, taking everything in.  She does not like naps.  She usually takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoon, but other than that she just dozes while she's nursing, and that's as good as it gets nap wise.  She is alert and active and loves learning new things.

We just love this girl.  We are so blessed to have her in our family!

She's going to be rolling onto her tummy soon!  Little stinker.

Aww! She is so cute! Man it goes so fast doesn't it? We took the side of the crib off tonight to convert Lily's crib into a toddler bed. I sat and held her hand for an hour as she fell asleep- and I was remembering helping her fall asleep as a baby and I just started sobbing. It goes SO STINKIN' FAST! Babies are miracles- and Lia is especially wonderful. I can't wait to meet her!
