CAPSA 5K

A few weeks ago Dustin heard about a 5K fundraiser for CAPSA (Community Abuse Prevention Service Agency).  He created a team and we raised $135 for the cause.  Thank you to everyone who donated!  Team Cool Runnin (Dustin's team) won prizes for raising the most money as a team.
The day of the 5K was rainy, but still the runners did a great job and it was actually really fun.  Some of Dustin's family came up to support him, and it was really good to see them.  We are thinking we will probably try to do the run again next year, because we all had such a good time.

Triumphant runners return!  Click on the picture to see it bigger.
Me and Kim started doing the 1 mile family walk,  but turned around after 10 mins or so because we realized we would miss the runners returning, and we wanted pictures.

Me and my runner!  Dustin took 9th place overall, not bad for his 1st 5K, especially since he couldn't train at all the week leading up to the race because he was sick.  He was really booking it the last stretch to the finish line, he is competitive and really wanted to place high.  Top ten is awesome!
Lia Jo really enjoyed the morning.  She was warm and dry in her carseat while the rest of us were getting wet, but she got to come out for a minute when the sun came out.
Lia with Grandma Schade (Dustin's mom), thanks for coming up grandma!
